    Session 1 of 4 in

    AIHR's Connected Learning Series

Coaching is no longer a “nice-to-have” skill for HR and L&D; it’s becoming one of the most powerful ways to elevate your influence, build trust, and help employees and managers grow through real workplace challenges. As HR and L&D continue to evolve into a more strategic and people-centric function, the ability to coach effectively in everyday moments can set you apart and expand your impact across the organization.

Join this highly practical session led by AIHR’s SME Annelise Pretorius, designed to help you integrate essential coaching habits and conversational models into your daily HR and L&D toolkit. Rather than focusing on theory, this session is all about real conversations: how to ask better questions, guide others toward clarity, manage tricky moments with confidence, and help employees take ownership of their next steps.

You’ll learn how to use short, structured coaching moments - even in busy workflows - to unlock reflection, problem-solving, and accountability. You’ll also explore when coaching is the right approach versus when HR and L&D need to advise, escalate, or steer the conversation differently. Whether you're supporting managers, guiding employees through growth and performance topics, or strengthening your own professional presence, this session will give you practical tools to coach with confidence and consistency.

    Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

    • Apply a simple, goal-focused coaching structure to guide short but meaningful coaching conversations with employees and managers.
    • Ask powerful coaching questions that encourage reflection, clarity, problem-solving, and accountability.
    • Distinguish when coaching is the right approach versus when HR and L&D should advise, direct, or escalate the conversation.
    • Deliver supportive, forward-looking feedback that helps employees identify options and commit to next steps.
    • Use quick, in-the-moment coaching techniques that fit naturally into HR and L&D workflows and employee touchpoints.

A practice-based learning series for leaders, HR professionals, consultants, and facilitators focused on real-time application, peer feedback, and experiential tools—not lectures.

FLOW in Practice™ is a four-session experiential lab designed for professionals who want to practice leadership, facilitation, and communication skills in real time.

This is not a traditional workshop series. There are no long lectures or slide decks. Each session is built as a practice arena, using experiential facilitation tools and structured peer feedback to build confidence, clarity, and skill.

Participants will work with 2–3 facilitation tools per session, rotating through live practice roles and reflecting on how their leadership and facilitation actually land with others.

If you’re looking for passive learning, this is not the series for you.

If you’re ready to practice, reflect, and apply—welcome.

Select your sessions during registration or contact [email protected].

Limited to 15 participants per session to ensure depth and safety.
